Congratulations to Tiarra Dembo!

Tiarra is experiencing an opportunity of a lifetime!! She applied and was accepted to travel to London and Paris in July as a youth ambassador with People to People.  Through this experience, she will have an opportunity to learn firsthand about European history and culture, forster new friendships, and develop an awareness of teh world through travel.  This hopes to be a positive life-changing adventure for her as well as her family.

Youth Serves as Ambassador in Austria

Earl Snead will shoot hoops with the best.  He has been recommended and accepted as an Ambassador for the U.S. Athletic Games in Austria.  Earl will train with legendary NCAA Basketball coach Rollie Massamino and compete with students athletes from 25 countries at the Youth Friendship Games, an Olympic style sports festival in Austria, July 2009.

In Austria, the birthplace of Mozart, not only will Earl explore Vienna but also earn high school and college credits.  With his new leadership skills and educational opportunities Earl, a sophomore, will get a head start on the college experience.

Congratulations to Julia Hopson, whose acrylic on canvas self-portrait tiled "Squishy" was exhibited in "Statements" The NCAA National Convention's inaugural art show in Washington, DC.  Julia, as senior at Fredonia State, was one of 20-student athletes chose for track, illustration and photography.

Congratulations Marques from moving up from the 5th Grade at Sheafe Road Elementary School to the 6th Grade at Myers Corners for the 2008-2009 school year!!

At Marques Villaronga's school Sheafe Road Elementary, the 5th Graders participated in a Cablevision Internet Presentation on "Internet Smarts".

Cablevision's Neighborhood Journal program, which featured a story about the "Internet Smarts" event held at Sheafe Road Elementary in Wappingers Falls, NY, will run from July 12th until August 9th on Channel 6 in the towns of Amenia, Clinton, Dover, Washington, Millbrook, Millerton, Northeast, Pine Plains, Stanford, and Union Vale.  Residents in Wappingers Falls and the rest of Dutchess, Putnam, and Ulster Counties can view the featured story on Channel 18.

The times are Mondays and Fridays at 4:30 pm and Saturdays and Sundays at 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, & 11:00 pm.

Congratulations to Brigetta!
Brigetta Barrett jumped six feet and has now qualified for the U.S. Olympic trials.  She stands with two top high school jumpers in America.  Brigetta says, "I'm on my way!  Pray for me."



Each one should use whatever gift he has received to serve others, faithfully administering God's grace in varous forms. 1Peter 5:10

Jaynae Okon (1988-2008)
In Memory of Jaynae Okon
Jaynae Okon died on May 19, 2008 at the age of 19. She suffered an asthma attack and could not be revived. She is survived by her parents Sis. Joan and Bro. John Okon, her sisters Uyime and Ima. Jaynae was a sophomore at Stony Brook University and a 2006 graduate of Arlington High School. She was a member of the Full Gospel Center in LaGrangeville. Jaynae was committed to the empowerment of people and one of her goals as a member with Global Policy Forum was to end poverty in the Third World. Calling hours will be held on Friday, May 23, 2008 from 4 to 8 p.m. and Saturday, May 24 from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the Full Gospel Center, 1138 Rte 55, LaGrangeville, NY. Homegoing Service will follow Saturday viewing at 11 a.m. For directions call 845.452.4673.
