Health & AIDS Awareness Ministry

OUR VISION

Our vision is to develop a ministry of committed members whose goals will be to achieve by focusing on the mind, body, and soul of each member of the congregation and the community at large.

OUR MISSION STATEMENT

The mission of the BMBC Health & AIDS Awareness Ministry is to empower people with knowledge to live a healthier and happier life and to promote optimum health in the church and the community at large.  Our intent is to impact and improve the health of individuals to achieve wholeness.  We are called to care for the body God has entrusted to us.  Because we love God, we must honor the body He gave us and empower His people to do the same.

OUR OBJECTIVES

  • Members of the Health & AIDS Awareness Ministry will obtain continued education by attending seminars, workshops, and conferences on health topics and AIDS related issues.
  • Disseminate updated information on various health topics and HIV/AIDS awareness to the congregation.
  • Promote various health issues and HIV/AIDS awareness in the community by sponsoring workshops, seminars, health screenings, health fairs, conferences, and Gospel Concerts.
  • Encourage healthier lifestyle changes and a healthy mindset; to build self-esteem as well as to provide support.
  • Provide spiritual and emotional support and concrete services for individuals and/or their families with health concerns or HIV/AIDS.
  • Identify and establish an alliance with resources in our community, neighboring communities, and throughout New York State affected by various health issues and HIV/AIDS.
  • Develop a collaborative relationship with other BMBC ministries and churches that are supportive of our Health & AIDS Awareness Ministry and related activities.

A healthy mind, body, and soul help us to live a life pleasing to God.

Don't you know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit, who lives in you and who was given to you by God?  You do not belong to yourselves but to God; he bought you for a price.  So use your bodies for God's glory.
1 Corinthians 6:19-20 GNB
